FULL LIST OF WINNERS BET AWARDS 2019

Burna Boy has won the award for Best International Act at the BET 2019 awards.

The Afrobeat singer was nominated alongside other world superstars in the category including Mr Eazi, but got the nod ahead of them as he came out top, winning the gong.

His mother and manager, Bose Ogulu collected the award on his behalf and gave an acceptance speech in which she delievered a message to every black person seated in the hall.

She said; “Thank you very much BET, thank you, Africa. That is the constituency for which we got noticed. The message from Burna would be that every black person should please remember that you were Africans before you became anything else.”

Burna Boy now joins the list of other Nigerian superstars who have won the award. The likes of 2face, Davido, Wizkid etc.

FULL LIST OF WINNERS AT THE 2019 BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS

Award-winning Canadian rapper, Drake, has broken the record for the number of Billboard Music Awardsreceived by an artist after picking up another 12 honours at the ceremony on Wednesday night.

Drake who won the biggest prize of the night,  the award for top artist – beating the likes of Cardi B, Ariana Grande, Post Malone, and Travis Scott, now has a total of 27 Billboard Awards to his name.

During his acceptance speech, Drake said: “No matter how long it took me to figure out what I wanted to do, you were always there to give me a ride and now we’re all on one hell of a ride.”

Other winners on the night included Cardi B, who won the top 100 song prize for Girls Like You – which features Maroon 5. Ariana Grande, also picked up the award for top female artist

The Foreign Teck, OZ, and EY-produced track features Nigerian superstar, Davido who pulled the Afrobeat sauce on the new joint.
