AUBAMEYANG CONFIDENT OF CATCHING SALAH,AGUERO IN GOLDEN BOOT RACE

 Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has his sights set on catching Sergio Aguero and Mohamed Salah in the race for the Premier League's Golden Boot after his opportunistic goal downed Watford.

Aubameyang capitalised on goalkeeper Ben Foster's lapse in concentration in the 10th minute at Vicarage Road on Monday, earning a win that moved the Gunners up to fourth in the table.

Troy Deeney's red card shortly after the goal gave Watford a mountain to climb but Javi Gracia's side hit the woodwork twice, Bernd Leno turning Craig Cathcart's effort on to the post and Adam Masina's drive clipping the crossbar.

Arsenal held on against the 10 men for their first away clean sheet in the Premier League this season, giving Unai Emery's men a boost ahead of the second leg of their upcoming Europa League quarter-final with Napoli.

Aubameyang moved on to 18 Premier League goals with his winner and is now within one of Golden Boot leaders Salah and Aguero, while Liverpool's Sadio Mane is level with the Gabon international.

Former Borussia Dortmund striker Aubameyang was the Bundesliga's leading scorer in 2016-17 after netting 31 times and he feels he can chase down Aguero and Salah despite games running out fast.

"Yeah, why not. I feel confident," Aubameyang told Sky Sports when asked if he could claim the Golden Boot. "The race is going on. I know it's a tough battle. I'm confident that I will carry on.

"I was confident. It's a long time I wanted to score a goal like this. Tonight, it went through. I was confident. Normally goalkeepers, they don't really know if you're coming back to them. It was a good goal for me, I like it."

Aubameyang ploughed a lone furrow with Alexandre Lacazette left on the bench and the striker accepted he would prefer to operate as a front two with the Frenchman alongside him.

"Everybody knows that I like to play with Laca because we have a great partnership," he added.

"Sometimes one plays, the other is on the bench. It's like that. You have to fight for the team.

"I think you know that I like to play with two strikers but I don’t want to say it because the coach will be maybe a bit angry."

Watford goalkeeper Foster accepted he was badly to blame for Arsenal's winner, failing to move the ball on fast enough after receiving Daryl Janmaat’s pass.

"I am gutted for the lads. they were brilliant," Foster said to Sky Sports. "We were the better team, pushing for it. Arsenal were happy to hit us on the counter.

"I should have just ‘Cruyffed’ him to be honest. I've said sorry to the lads. I have tried to drag it on to my left and pass it out but before I knew it he was bloody on me. He is too quick.

"I have to do it quicker. In hindsight you have to get rid as quick as you can, even if it goes into row Z. I am definitely not a modern goalie. They can't score from row Z. He is just rapid. Lesson learned."

PROBLEMS OF MONEY TRANSFER TO ANGLOPHONE REGIONS

 Since February 2019, the transfer of money from Qatar in the United Arab Emirates to the North West and South West regions of Cameroon has been an uphill task. “I live in Qatar. I tried sending money through MoneyGram to my family in the North West of Cameroon but was told it was not possible.

No official reason was given for such an abrupt stop». Our source in Qatar declared. 

Curiously enough, Cameroonians in Qatar attest that the impossibility to wire money home is affecting just the Anglophone Regions while it’s possible to transfer money to the other eight regions of the country through the same money transfer agency without any issue.

This has caused these desperate Cameroonians(most of whom are Anglophones) to wire money to relatives in the French speaking part of Cameroon from where the money is sent to those in the North West and South West Regions.

For those who want to send money directly to the North West and South West Regions, they have resorted to Western Union.
To one of them, “We abandoned Western Union because of high transfer charges plus a policy that one cannot send more than two hundred thousand francs to a relative in English speaking Cameroon”. He explains that when such an amount is sent, the receiver is obliged to create an account with the agency (Western Union) before receiving the money.

Bertin Kisob, a Cameroonian living in the United State of America narrates his ordeal. “MoneyGram blocked me from sending money to Cameroon in 2017.At first, I did not understand but only discovered later that it had to do with the arrest and detention of my brother. He was arrested in Bamenda,transported to Yaounde and detained for engaging in a hunger strike against bad governance”. He explains that since then, he has not been able to send money to Cameroon through MoneyGram.

Analysis:

Anglophone militiamen also known as the Ambazonia fighters, challenging the authority of the government of Cameroon in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon continue to fight despite all odds.
From the use of local artisanal weapons at the beginning of 2017, today the amba boys showcase and fight with weapons matching those of the military. 

This has placed the Cameroon security service in a tight corner leading to the conclusion that external support is largely responsible for the successes recorded by the Ambazonia fighters.

This, some commentators say has possibly led the regime of Paul Biya to resort to blocking funds from abroad to people in the anglophone regions of the country.
People in these two regions are often questioned and made to fill forms originating from the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon are often questioned and obliged to fill forms detailing the purpose of the money they receive from abroad through this agency.

Note that, Ambazonia leaders in the diapora practically command the process for the restoration of Ambazonia Statehood back in the anglophone regions of Cameroon. The government is doing all to weaken the struggle and stop the war by stopping the funding they suspect comes from abroad.

Consequently, innocent anglophones who only depend on relatives abroad for survival are today feeling the pinch of economic hardship coupled with the fact that weekly ghost towns and frequent lockdowns have paralyzed activities in the regions. 

In January 2019, the national station announced that MoneyGram and Western Union services in Cameroon were perturbed after the government obliged both international money transfer agencies to increase their commissions.

MoneyGram and Western Union who rose against the move said it was either they increase transfer charges or see their benefits drop drastically.

The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, known as the Total 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, is scheduled to be the 32nd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the biennial international men's football championship of Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS 2019 DRAW ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

  The Africa Cup of Nations draw takes place on Friday (19:00 BST), with several Premier League players waiting to discover their countries' fate.

The tournament, which is in Egypt, is the biggest yet with 24 teams and the first to be held in Europe's summer rather than January or February.

It will take place from 21 June to 19 July, meaning European-based players will not need to miss club games.

Cameroon are the defending champions, beating Egypt in the 2017 final.

Liverpool pair Mohamed Salah (Egypt) and Sadio Mane (Senegal), Manchester City's Riyad Mahrez (Algeria) and Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha (Ivory Coast) are among the Premier League stars expected to feature.

The draw

Teams have been separated into four seeding pots based on the Fifa world rankings released on 4 April. They will then be drawn into six groups of four.

This is only part of the story, though.

Cameroon was initially selected to host, but the country was stripped of the event because of delays in the progress of their preparation. In a statement announcing this, the Confederation of African Football said "a number of compliance conditions have not been met" and added it did not want to expose the Africa Cup of Nations to "any issues that could impact on the success of the most prestigious African competition".

The original timing of the event was also changed from 15 June-13 July to its current dates to allow players to rest after the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Ramadan, when Muslims abstain from food and water from sunrise to sunset, is due to start at the beginning of May and last until the beginning of June.

How have the countries performed before?

The tournament will feature 24 teams, an increase from the 16 that took part in the event in Gabon 2017.

There will be three debutants this year in Burundi, Madagascar and Mauritania.

The hosts, Egypt, are the most experienced and decorated side competing, having won the Afcon seven times, most recently in 2010.

Five-time winners and holders Cameroon - now managed by Clarence Seedorf - will also be there to defend their title.
