SAMUEL ETOO’S TWEET RECALLS A DARKER SIDE OF PEP GUARDIOLA

  • Ex-Barca striker took to Twitter to praise Pep Guardiola, ex-Barca boss
  • He admits that playing for Guardiola made you feel at ease, as the Catalan 'made football simple'
  • Earlier, Yaya Toure, ex-Barca and City midfielder has openly branded Pep as having 'problems with Africans'
It all started out with Samuel Eto'o recent tweet in which he praised Pep Guardiola for 'making the football simple':

Looks decent enough, a heartfelt eulogy for one of the most successfull Barca coaches with three La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey wins, three Supercopa de España, two CL trophies, to name a few.
Yet, there's a darker side to Guardiola's reign at literally any club he managed since his departure from Barcelona.
Let's look at some other stats, the ones you'll barely find on any football website
This is the number of African players who plied their trade under Pep in every football club the footballing mind managed:
AFRICANS THAT PLAYED UNDER GUARDIOLA
Barcelona
Samuel Eto'o - Cameroon
Seydou Keita - Mali
Yaya Toure - Ivory Coast
Bayern Munich
Mehdi Benatia - Morocco
Manchester City
Yaya Toure - Ivory Coast
Kelechi Iheanacho - Nigeria
Not so many, right?
But what does Yaya Toure has to say about his ex-manager - let's take a look.
Yaya Toure, played under Guardiola in Barcelona and Man City
"He was cruel with me. Do you really think he could've been like that with Andres Iniesta?" Toure said.

"It got to the point I asked myself if it was because of my colour. I'm not the first, other Barca players asked the question too,"

Yaya, known for having an issue with alleged racist-talk (remember City's CL forays into Russia), appears to be embittered with his ex-boss, as he refused Cot D'ivuar international a farewell to Man City, a cruel gesture, given Toure's 300 appearances for the club.

"He stole my farewell with City, a club with beautiful fans. I would have liked to leave with the emotion of this club the way Iniesta [left Barca] or Gianluigi Buffon [left Juventus]. But Pep prevented me."
"I want to be the one who breaks the Guardiola myth,"
Do you think Pep has been a racist all along or is Toure just being peevish?
